Speaking of pointing the finger...

(Heh.)

DirtyGreek has an interesting take on the Hinson-Adams situation:

Here's my theory: The pastor leading the Southern Baptist group decides he doesn't want to distribute the beer-labeled water, and decides to wait, because he knows there's another shipment of water coming from somewhere else. A few hours go by where no one is getting water from this group (or maybe just a few people in this group?), until the new shipment arrives. Then, everyone is given water.

If this is the case, it explains how the NBC reporters can say that people were being denied water, but it also means that Mr. Hinson isn't LYING when he says no one was denied water. Technically, if my theory's correct, no one WAS denied water. Their water supply was just delayed.

Conchobar looks at it differently. After posting Hinson's statement that "It is an absolute falsehood to suggest -- as many irresponsible bloggers have -- that the Baptist volunteers withheld the basic needs of life from Floridians impacted by the hurricane," Conchobar says:

[I]t was never stated that the hurricane victims were deprived of water. The Red Cross was handing out plenty.

Dirty Greek continues to wonder exactly what happened, and what didn't happen, at the water distribution or non-distribution. He approaches it in this spirit:

I don't want anyone to be discouraged from helping because of my comments; I'm just trying to find out the truth. Please please please don't take any of this personally. I just want to make sure everyone is helped as much as possible.

Truth? I'm wondering how Pilate's statement may be applicable to this whole matter. Well, if you look at the verse in context, you see that Jesus precedes it by saying, "Everyone on the side of truth listens to me." Perhaps...
