It's Working!

My reprogramming of my Yahoo! LAUNCHcast station is starting to take effect. When Loretta Lynn is followed by Ladytron's "Seventeen," which is then followed by Freddie Hart's "Easy Loving" (hadn't heard it before, but I like it), all is right with the world.

Basically, I want the station to veer from extreme to extreme - kinda like this blog.

Found this quote at Stylus magazine:

"[Helen] Marnie also avoids showing much emotion on “Seventeen”, the album’s most immediate pop hit. The song contains zing but without any eagerness to show how catchy it is. The chorus, 'They only want you when you’re 17/When you’re 21/You’re no fun' should be a wake up call for all supermodels or everyone to realize that, after your teens, you are just getting old."

And here's an interview.

And here's access to a 30 second snippet. Track 2. I can't get track 16 to work.

And here's a semi-related new Orange County blog I found tonight.

And here's an unrelated biography of Grandpa Jones. The only similarities between Louis Marshall Jones and Helen Marnie is that both of them wore makeup.

I put two thirty second snippets together here. One's an old love, and one ain't. It works on my computer with Windows Media Player; not sure if it will work elsewhere. Courtesy Best Buy.
