America Online has jumped into the free email business, hoping to attract customers to its AIM Mail service years after Microsoft, Yahoo, Google and others began offering free web-based email. AOL will begin beta testing AIM Mail, its free service, beginning today....

Of note, [AIM Mail] will boast more storage capacity for users than either Microsoft or Yahoo (although less than Google), offering 2GB per account.
