Cost of War in Iraq
You know how people blindly follow every command of certain radio talk show hosts, such as Howard Stern, Rush Limbaugh, and Tom Leykis? Well, those that obey the commands of the John and Ken Show are investigating David Dreier's opponent Cynthia Matthews.
For the record, here's Matthews' statement on the John & Ken hot button issue of illegal immigration:
I believe that we need to closely scrutinize the H-1B legislation supported by my opponent that allows companies to legally import foreign labor by making it easier to get work visas. These people in turn compete directly with our work force that has college degrees. I also believe that the issue of undocumented immigrants taking jobs is really a "wedge issue" being used to divert us from the real issues of "legal" foreign labor and offshoring of American jobs taking away our high quality opportunities. Undocumented immigrants typically take low paying jobs that most American's do not want to do. To address this issue effectively, we need to penalize the Corporations that illegally hire them.
On other issues, Matthews opposes the war in Iraq and displays a counter (courtesy costofwar.com) that estimates the mounting cost of the Iraq effort.
