More on Rick James Cause of Death
A murky subject elicited the following comment from "Bad Brad" on the Rick James message board:

Yes, RJ had a drug problem, no secret there.. Yes, some of us thought he beat it... In fact, many of us hoped he beat it.. Though I am against drugs totally, I am also very understanding that folks can get addicted to them and suffer a life long fight to try to rid themselves of it..

RJ couldn't, but does that take away from the body of work he left? Hell no, it doesn't... He was human and we all have faults.... Only one man is perfect and we all know who that is.... This news does nothing to change the way I feel about RJ's music and the man..... No one is my hero, but many folks I respect for their contributions to this world that are good..

RJ's music gave back more than anyone on this board or on this planet can ask for....

His demons were his demons and no matter how much love or attention someone might have given him, only he could defeat them..

But you know what? He went in his sleep which is very peaceful.. God took him like that because he knew when RJ was in the womb, that he would suffer with a lifelong bout of drug addiction... But God also knew what RJ was going to give the world..

We all know that very well..

So in closing, RJ, sleep in peace.. You were a human like us and had flaws.. So what........ Thanks for leaving a legacy of music that has warmed hearts, made babies, and put millions of smiles on people's faces..
