Rasor. Nice.
If you near near the corner of Orangethorpe and Chapman, you might see the signs posted along the street for a barber shop. Several of the signs include the word "rasor."

I was curious about this spelling, since I've always seen "razor." Is this a Spanish thing or something?

Well, I performed a Yahoo! search for "rasor barber" and found the following (among other things):

Caesioperca rasor. Information about a fish commonly called the barber perch, but with the scientific whatchamcallit name Caesioperca rasor.

A quote from Pliny. Pliny apparently said:

The first [barbers] that entered Italy came out of Sicily and it was in the 454 year after the foundation of Rome...The first that was shaven every day was Scipio Africanus, and after him cometh Augustus the Emperor, who evermore used the rasor.
Pliny the Elder, Historia Naturalis, book vii, section 59

A community-minded swimmer. Coca-Cola nominated Florida State University swimmer Tonya Rasor for an award after she performed 250 hours of community service in a single year.

According to her biography, Rasor is from Niceville, Florida and went to Niceville High. (Wait, this belongs in my earlier entry.)

And yes, there are barbers in Niceville:

Hello! I'm Tonya Rasor, the one you mention in the previous entry. Niceville is a great place. It has a small town feel, but with all the arts, restaurants, and things to do of a larger city! I was wondering where you saw signs with "razor" spelled "rasor." The only thing I can tell you is that my last name is of German origin.
