What John Kerry is Saying About the Summit Idea Today
I just checked John Kerry's blog, which presently displays posts as far back as September 29. The word "summit" does not appear once in the blog (or at least in the summaries). You'd think that there would be more there.

I did, however, check through some of the comments posted to the blog (extreme adulation) and found these:

After last night's decisive win, John Kerry now needs to go to Iraq. He should assess the situation in person, live, on the ground, and meet with the troops. He will be showing boldness, decisiveness, creativity in this campaign, support for the troops, and will cause a media sensation. It would be a great campaign move.

Yes, I agree that the cable media is generally biased in favor of President Bush but last night we got some unbiased critical analysis of Bush's lackluster performance. Former Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough said Kerry looked Presidential and was the clear winner...Pat Buchannan echoed those sentiments. Foregive me for the post-debate anaylsis..Kerry was generally outstanding and generally Presidential but there have been a few posts on this board which have made excellent suggestions for improvement.

I would hope that during the Town Hall debate our Senator clarifies his position on the 87B dollars. For the live of me I can't understand why he doesn't say I voted for giving 87B to our troops through the Kerry-Biden Amendment and voted against the Presidents plan to fund through the general treasury. Moreover, the President evening asking for those funds at such a late date was a failure in leadership for it signifies that he lead our troops into battle without sufficient body armor in the first instance. (JK did make the latter point). All in All I was surprised by the weak performance of GW. He was a shell of the person who debated Al Gore.

I dont think the polls are what matters. The important thing is that John Kerry looked strong, hopeful and clear last night. The other important thing is that George Bush looked dazed and confused. He seemed out of touch, and he got angry when challenged. His point, when he had one at all, seemed to be that anyone who criticizes him undermines the troops. For someone who talks a lot about democracy and freedom of expression, he sure doesnt seem to like them very much particularly when he is forced to sit and listen to speak someone speak the truth. I think John Kerry's clarity and George Bush's confusion is the real story. Not the polls.

John Kerry was brilliant! Not only did Kerry look and sound VERY PRESIDENTIAL, Bush looked aweful and appeared weak, petulent, and confused.

Bye, bye, Bush!

Be ready to fight the spin and worse - false polls that showed it even or Bush winning. We'll see those on Saturday and Sunday - i.e. Gallup/NBC-WSJ (Bush did so poorly that the false polls will probably hedge themselves with a "tie" finding - they'll of course have surveyed 70% rep. 20% dem, etc). We'll also see 'experts' calling it even or pro-Bush - and then the big hit - the overall poll as to whether the "debate affected your vote" - it will show 90% "no" and then show Bush with a 14 point lead - believe me, it's coming.

Does anyone know what Kerry meant when he stated that that a President of the USA must pass a "global test" before committing preemptive war to protect the country?

John said we could go to his site to find more information about his policies but I can't find anything about this policy.

The federal governments primary role is to protect this country from threats both foreign and domestic. John Kerry saying that in order to defend America premptively from a percieved threat we have to pass a 'global test' first. How many other countries have to approve before we can take preemptive action?

Quite frankly I'm very disturbed by this revelation of John Kerry's value. Are we really willing to subjugate the national security of our country to a 'global test' of other nations?

USANick;
If the entire world is saying something is wrong it probably is, correct?
Thats the global test.

Good morning you wonderful people! Let's thank God and enjoy one morning of joy before we realize the crap that will be flung at us in the next couple of days. Remember the future polls will tell us NOTHING - if JK does not go up in the polls we will simply realize again the control the media has over them. $150 million of the Repugs money went out the window last night. One on one there simply is no question who should be and will be in the whitehouse. Come Nov. 3rd the media will look like fools - and I for one WILL NEVER TRUST THEM AGAIN! I can't believe I'm 56 years old and this is my new form of communicating!

This repeateed Bush comment really gets to me:
"it is hard work" how many times did he say this?"

Life really does mimic art.

During the 2000 campaign, one of the Saturday Night Live skits had Wes Ferrell as candidate Bush. He kept on whining about how hard the job is. It turns out he was creating the Bush camnpaign slogan.
Does "Is is hard work" sound like a slogan worth dieing for in Iraq?
