Yes, Lonewacko must be doing something right

Followup to my authoritarian cultists post. Lonewacko appears to have been banned by RedState. And DailyKos.

Lonewacko believe the banning occurred because of the post Bush "Gold Card" would open borders to cheap labor.

So, did this violate RedState's rules?

So what are Republican ideals today? According to GOP.com, Republican ideals are summed up as follows:

Republicans have a long and rich history with basic principles: Individuals, not government, can make the best decisions; all people are entitled to equal rights; and decisions are best made close to home.

Let's look at the Republican Principles one by one and see if George W. Bush is in the historic Republican tradition:

Republican Principles

I'm a Republican Because...

I BELIEVE the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.

Note that this concept of individualism can be found in the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution, and the references to dignity and freedom derive from the Republican Party's origin as an opponent of slavery. Does George W. Bush believe in the individual? If you remember that corporations are individuals too, I guess you could say yes.

I BELIEVE in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.

The omissions are as interesting as the statements here. Specifically, because there is not agreement on the party regarding "sexual orientation," this is not mentioned here.

I BELIEVE free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

Again, it depends on the individual. Is individual initiative encouraged when low-income workers have to compete for jobs with lower-income illegal aliens?

I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.

Note that this is a two-part belief. Certain George W. Bush believes in the "keep more of the money they earn" part (although I heard an argument that Bush should have made the tax cuts permanent in the first place), but "fiscal responsibility"? Bill Clinton partisans are laughing over that one.

I BELIEVE the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least.

I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.

The Independent Institute put it best: From the massive increases in agricultural subsidies in the farm bill of 2002, to the new Medicare prescription drug entitlement of 2003; from the 47% increase in the defense budget, to the 80% increase in education spending, George W. Bush has demonstrated that “limited government” is not part of his political vocabulary..

I BELIEVE Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.

OK, perhaps this is where the "sexual orientation" comes into play. And perhaps "new and innovative" ideas include outsourcing, guest workers, and making friendly with Taliban supporters (see below).

I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.

I think that Bush/Cheney definitely like the word "extend" in this platform. Note that "extend" is different from "promote." But let's take a look at "national strength." Lonewacko quotes from WorldNetDaily: Mexican agencies charged with intelligence and counter-terrorism, such as the Office of Coordination of the Presidency and the Center for Research on National Security, CISEN, do little more than offer half-hearted monitoring of militant Islamic activity. Meanwhile on the docks, [Chuck] Schumer's proposal..."would bar any American port activities by companies owned by countries that recognized Afghanistan's Taliban rulers, as Dubai did. And where did George W. Bush stand on those two national strength issues?

FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

Actually, in this case they may be right. However poor the Republicans are in trumpeting small government and national defense, the Democrats certainly aren't any better (I'd like a single answer to the question "Do the Democrats support increased spending for the troops in Iraq"?).
