Why I could never work for MSM

I have a problem with getting serious at silly moments, and (more importantly) of getting silly at serious moments.

For example, I've been reading a very serious article discussing the bird flu recently discovered in Britain.

The British government said Sunday that a strain of bird flu that killed a parrot in quarantine is the deadly H5N1 strain that has plagued Asia and recently spread to Europe.

Scientists determined that the parrot, imported from South America, died of the strain of avian flu that has devastated poultry stocks and killed 61 people in Asia the past two years, according to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

This is a potential health hazard to humans, and in worst case scenarios can reach pandemic proportions. Yet all that I can think of is this:

The parrot's not dead. He's just resting. He's pining for the fjords.
