From Dentistry to The Purple Pill
With the Athens Olympics approaching, Mark Spitz was booked as a guest on today's Tony Bruno radio show. Before Spitz arrived, there were various dentistry jokes, so they opened with some dentistry questions before discussing some of this year's Olympic swimming hopefuls. This led to the question posed to Mark, "Do people still recognize you?"

This question gave Mark the opportunity to launch into a two minute commercial. He started by saying that although he no longer has the moustache, he might be recognized if people knew in advance that he was in their town. Turns out he's visiting a lot of towns lately, talking about a disease he has, acid reflux disease...bla bla bla...he takes the purple pill Nexium...bla bla bla.

Tony tried to make a joke about the subject, but Mark returned to the topic, talking about the research bla bla bla Nexium bla bla bla.

Andrew Siciliano finally ended the commercial by emphatically stating, "Turning to a totally different subject," and talking about terrorism. (You'll recall that the 1972 Munich Olympics in which Spitz participated was marred by a Palestinian terrorist attack against the Israeli team.)

I had to turn my radio off at that time, so I don't know if Spitz worked in any more commercial mentions.
