Dan Gross | In defense of Nick Carter

ANGI TAYLOR says the Nick Carter who would have hit Paris Hilton is not the one she dated.

The Q102 morning co-host went out with the Backstreet Boys singer in 2002 and doesn't buy the New York Post's report that he caused Hilton's recent bruises.

"The Nick I knew would never lay a hand on a woman, especially a woman he loves," Taylor says.

Carter has denied hitting Hilton, but Hilton has not yet commented about the bruises, which upsets Taylor.

"If she was cool at all, she would come forward to the media in his defense," says Taylor, who also called Hilton "a vile human being...famous for being a skank."

If that sounds like jealousy over Carter, it's not.

She's now "crazy in love" with Dave Kampel, a Clear Channel radio producer from Chicago.

Click on Detroit has this to say:

Who will ever get to the bottom of Paris Hilton's bruises? The photos of the party-girl heiress with the subject of tabloid fodder and made headlines on People, Star and the National Enquirer. You've heard the stories that the bruises were blamed on nice guy Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, Hiltons' ex boyfriend, but his camp vehemently denies that.

Carter's people say they came from an S&M photo shoot and MTV News reported the shoot was for Rolling Stone.
