Let's hope he doesn't endorse Apple Computers in Britain

Perhaps he should have stopped at Puff Daddy. It would have saved him the unpleasantness:

Sean Combs is Diddy no more — at least in Britain. The musician and entertainment mogul has agreed to drop the Diddy name as part of an out-of court legal settlement with London-based music producer Richard "Diddy" Dearlove, the law firm representing Dearlove said Monday.

Solicitors Jens Hills & Co. said Combs had agreed to "rebrand his commercial activities" in Britain and would "no longer be able to trade in the U.K. as 'Diddy.'"...

Dearlove launched a lawsuit for unfair competition, claiming the name change had caused confusion. The case had been due to go to the High Court next month.

"I started getting e-mails from Puerto Rican girls asking if they could be in my video and people were asking me to look at their clothing line," Dearlove was quoted as saying by The Guardian newspaper....

But a spokesman for the music mogul said the matter had been resolved "amicably."

"The damages reported are wholly inaccurate and the request by Dearlove's attorney for legal fees in a case that has been settled is regrettable and is being vigorously contested," spokesman Robert Zimmerman of Dan Klores Communications said on behalf of Combs.

Wait a minute. Hold right there. Robert Zimmerman is working on behalf of Diddy? That's surprising:

"Don't you ever call me a liar on national TV again, aight."

Dylan from Da Band just dropped his new mixtape track dissing P. Diddy. I don't know that I'd go so far as to call it good, but of course it's hilarious. A few highlights:

-Dylan paraphrasing the G.O.A.T. ("First thing first, I pop off and knock off the bossman")

-Dylan shouting out Shyne, Total and Craig Mack

-Some kid in the background doing a spot on P. Diddy impression ("Oh, you know we had to do a remix!")

-"Next time you talk 'bout take that when you sing / We gon' take that fur right off your mink"

Dylan's verse is actually kinda short and then some other kid comes in and kicks a not-quite-as-amusing verse before Dylan comes back at the end to go off a little more on Diddy....

I've always liked Dylan's music but, god, that man can't sing a note.

Someone - I think it may have been the late Steve Allen - pointed out that so many people were obsessing over Dylan's lack of singing ability that they didn't pay attention to what he was SAYING.

Until I researched this post, I had no idea that there was a rapper who called himself Dylan.

During his Christian period, Bob Dylan released a song called "Covenant Woman." A couple of years later, Undercover (with their original singer) released "Jesus Girl." Two very different song styles.
