She Loves a Man in a Uniform
From Reuters:

When Britain introduced its new freedom of information laws, Angela Wright seized on them as a chance to find an unattached man in uniform.

Wright sent an email to her local police force asking about "eligible bachelors within Hampshire constabulary between the ages of 35 and 49 and details of their email addresses, salary details and pension values," the Guardian reported Saturday.

But police said the names and addresses were personal and exempt from the laws, which came into force in January. They were prepared to tell her, however, that the Hampshire force had 266 eligible bachelors, of whom 201 were in uniform....

Yeah, but now I got a Gang of Four (tryin' to make it as a Western band) song stuck in my head (bang bang! shoot shoot!).

Except now the Men Without Hats song has invaded my brain matter.

Dang.

The Men Without Hats song in question is "Living in China," which was an extra song on the cassette version of their first LP (the one with "Safety Dance" on it). "Living in China" was a commentary on China's early 80s turn toward capitalism, and the resulting radical break (or so it seemed at the time) from the Chinese situation from just a few years previous. ("What would Chairman Mao say" appeared in a couple of the choruses.)
