Vacation - Flagstaff, AZ, August 1, 2005

Cracker Barrel, 2560 Lucky Lane, Flagstaff, AZ 86004

Cracker Barrel restaurants aren't available in California and Nevada for a variety of reasons, so I actually have to take a trip to eat at one. (Business trips to Phoenix, Hartford, and Atlanta have included a Cracker Barrel stop.)

The Flagstaff area was also notable for the only really bad weather that we encountered during our entire trip - a few minutes of hail before Flagstaff, and a few minutes of hail after Flagstaff (before entering New Mexico). Actually, the latter storm should properly be mentioned in the Holbrook entry.

P.S. Astute readers may have noted that we didn't stop between Lake Havasu City and Flagstaff. Specifically, we didn't stop at Kingman (there was a Cracker Barrel there, but it was too early for lunch), nor did we stop at Seligman or Williams. I've mentioned Williams, Arizona before in passing - it's the southern gateway to the Grand Canyon, the southern end of the Grand Canyon Railroad, and a pretty little town in its own right. But we didn't have the time to stop this trip.
