Stacy Nadeau Today

My research into Stacy Nadeau's non-sordid past didn't turn up a lot about her present:

20-year-old Stacy Nadeau grew up in Ann Arbor, went to Saline High, and now studies in Chicago. But this summer, she’s at the center of an ad campaign that’s got real women talking about their bodies.

A size 10, Stacy Nadeau never thought she’d be a model until dove held open auditions.

"My mom encouraged me, she said I really have a fun feeling. I think you should go try it so I tried it and here I am," says Stacy....

In this weight-obsessed world, the message of the campaign and the women in it is hitting home with women who are sharing their feelings on-line. Stacy says she was most touched by a posting from a girl battling eating disorders.

"She wrote that she’s been using our images and putting them up on her mirror to remind her that being real and being beautiful is OK," Stacy said.

People are starting to recognize Stacy on the street. Her mom and boyfriend are proud of how she’s handling the attention. As for being seen by millions in her underwear, Stacy tells me, she doesn’t mind the "exposure."

"Here we are, showing you our untouched beautiful selves so you should really feel encouraged and feel good about yourself as well," Stacy says.

Here's some more information:

...Since they were unveiled earlier this month, the billboards have been covered in graffiti, the company's been accused of using models (it didn't) and people have been both inspired and annoyed by the spectacle....

NAME: Stacy Nadaeu, 20

JOB: Student

FROM: Ann Arbor, MI

BIG BREAK: Answered a flyer

SHE LOVES: Her love handles

WHY SHE DID IT: "I don't run around in my underwear all the time. But you can show any part of my body if it's going to help other women. Seeing the billboards was kind of surreal. The unveiling in New York was my most proud moment. Women had tears in their eyes. We weren't airbrushed. We actually made an impact on women's lives."

I think she looks fantastic, it's about time that women with real curves were put in the limelight, most of the men that i have asked about this (probably 98-99%) have said that they find "real" women far more attractive than some stick like super model, because thats what women are supposed to look like, curves and a bit of 'podge' are so much more sexy than a set of ribs and matchstick legs, but at the same time if you are naturally thin then thats fine too, because your not an idiot who starves yourself to look like that and encourages young girls to do the same because they want to look 'perfect', a good example is posh spice victoria beckham.
When i first met my wife she had very low self esteem, she thought that she was short, thin in the wrong places and fat in the wrong places, but to me she was perfect.
i kept telling her how beautiful and sexy she was and have done now every day for the last 8 years and now she is perfectly comfortable with her body and can even see herself as beautiful and sexy in the same way that i can, it's wrong of women to assume that they are ugly or fat or skinny or whatever just because somebody in an airbrushed picture looks better than them or some beauty queen tells them so, an 'I'm the best' bad attitude is much more unatractive than having a chunky set of thighs or a tubby tummy.
oh well , finished my rant now, so i'll leave you with my closing comment.

ALL women are beautiful, each in their own way, be you 18,35,40.....
big, small,fat ,thin....
just be you, be happy and people wil love you just as you are.

thankyou.
