Another chain that hasn't penetrated California.

Somewhere around here (either in eastern New Mexico, or in the Texas Panhandle) my daughter exclaimed, "Wow! This is flat!"

Welcome to the Great Plains.

Perhaps it was just because we were in the Panhandle, but most rest stops in this stretch of freeway weren't even rest stops - they were just places to pull over, park, and picnic, but with no toilet facilities.

By the way, you may have noticed that I haven't posted a single picture up to this point. That's because I hadn't taken any pictures up to this point.
