Von Wafer Advises Andrew Bynum and Scores

From the IVDB:

Bynum's strengths and weakness were apparent over the past 12 days. During a three-minute stretch in the first quarter Tuesday, Bynum had two shots blocked, committed a shot-clock violation and took a seat on the bench after picking up two fouls.

He will have to get stronger to better establish position in the post and learn to shoot over taller opponents. He displayed a nice hook shot, though, and got up and down the court well. Bynum also got some advice from second-round draft pick Von Wafer.

"I told Andrew he's got to be a little bit meaner,' Wafer said. "I told him, 'You've got to frown up sometimes.''

Meanwhile, Von Wafer himself had good individual numbers:

Von Wafer made a huge statement Saturday afternoon in the Summer Pro League at the Pyramid in Long Beach.

The 6-foot-4 rookie from Florida State, the third of the Lakers' three June draft picks, came off the bench to score 29 points -- shooting 10 for 12 from the field, 3 for 3 from 3-point range -- to spark the Lakers in a 98-94 setback to the Memphis Grizzlies.
