She She Bang Bang (Or, Terror in the Wallet)
While checking for the latest Angi Taylor news (nothing new), I discovered that William Hung has his own website. (Well, actually it's an Intermix Entertainment Property, but close enough.)
I'm glad to see that he's using his fifteen minutes for something admirable:
Hong Kong pop stars, including William Hung, help rake in donations for tsunami victims

Hong Kong's total donations for tsunami-stricken areas climbed to US$50 million (€38 million) as pop stars including Andy Lau and Nicholas Tse helped rake in cash at weekend charity concerts, media reports said Monday.
Lau appeared with Leon Lai, Aaron Kwok, Leo Koo and Alan Tam at a Sunday night fund-raiser aired by local broadcaster TVB. The event took in more than 48 million Hong Kong dollars (US$6.2 million; €4.6 million), TVB said Monday.
Wearing white sweat shirts with the Chinese characters "Delivering Care United in All Four Seas" inscribed in calligraphy, local celebrities wrote good will messages for disaster victims on a white lantern.
Tse and fellow singer Joey Yung and the female pop duo Twins led the "Hand in Hand Delivering Warmth to South Asia" charity performance, organized by their record label, Emperor Entertainment Group, which raised HK$4.1 million (US$526,000; €390,000).
The stars sang "We Are the World," the theme song of the 1985 Live Aid concert for hunger victims....
Hong Kong stars have either visited or plan trips to disaster areas. They include singers Cecilia Cheung and Jaycee Chan - the son of Jackie Chan....
Separately, visiting "American Idol" reject-turned-sensation William Hung also lent a hand, holding charity sales of his albums and posters, the Apple Daily newspaper reported....

When he isn't donating to charitable causes, William is promoting his movie career - but don't expect him to play a bad guy:
"American Idol" reject William Hung says he wants to play only good guys in his fledgling acting career.
In Singapore to promote his first film, the action-comedy "Where is Mama's Boy?," the Hong Kong-born Hung ruled out any nasty roles.
"I would like to preserve a good image and not play the bad guy or do anything that's obscene," Hung was quoted by The Straits Times newspaper as telling a news conference.
Hung stars in the Cantonese-language film, opening Thursday in Singapore, playing a street vendor who befriends a music club owner played by Hong Kong starlet Nancy Sit....
Well, as one fellow actor to another, I guess I somewhat agree with Hung's reluctance to play the bad guy. I have a chance to audition for the role of Pap Finn, but I'm not going to do it. However, this is partially because I can't see myself on the same acting level as John Goodman.
About that Nancy Sit - she is no young starlet. She appeared in her first movie in 1966, and has only appeared in four films since 1973.
She also had a recording career at one point:
I don't know if she ever covered Elton John, the Village People, or Ricky Martin. But she is a casino concert star:

For that matter, whatever happened to Annie Jacobsen? Well, she continues to write for Women's
For those of us who graduated from college more than 10 years ago, memories of being a "starving student" include eating ramen noodles, shopping at the used bookstore and exploring the underside of sofa cushions and pockets of dirty jeans to scrounge spare change for the subway, bus, or train. If today's collegiate world seems a little different --with students pulling out the plastic to charge everything and anything, from mocha frappachinos to Coldplay tickets -- it is.
Recent studies show many college kids want for nothing -- and it's not because tuition is lower (quite the opposite) or pizza is now free. It's because undergraduates have become the newest and fastest growing demographic to be plunging into credit card debt, and at great cost. The real cost could be their future. Not only are a record number of college kids graduating with five-figure credit card balances, but, according to the Maryland Public Interest Research Group (MaryPIRG), many college administrators say schools lose more kids to credit card debt that to academic failure....
